Our Philosophy

At Peachtree Detox, we believe that in order to recover from addiction, you must treat the cause – whether that be childhood trauma, emotional wounds, or dual diagnosis disorders. While we help you undergo the withdrawal process, we also work to uncover the motivation behind your addiction. We address these motivations and create a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

We don’t believe you should be put down for struggling, but only treated with dignity and respect. Taking a mind, body, and spirit approach, we not only help you detox but look to provide a lifeline of healing – for life.

What is Medically-Managed Withdrawal?

Medically-managed withdrawal, or supervised medical-detoxification, is the process of ridding the body of harmful substances – often including the administration of medication, to safely manage the symptoms of withdrawal when a person stops using. The goal of our medical detox programs is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the person undergoing detoxification while minimizing the physical and psychological distress of withdrawal.

Key aspects of our detox centers in Atlanta, Georgia include:

  1. Medical Supervision: Our medical professionals monitor the patient’s health throughout the detox process. This includes regular checks of vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature.

  2. Medication Management: Medications may be used to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, prevent complications, and treat any co-occurring mental health conditions. For example, benzodiazepines might be used for alcohol detox to prevent seizures, while methadone or buprenorphine might be used for opioid detox to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

  3. Support and Care: In addition to medical treatment, staff provide emotional support and care. This can include counseling, nutritional support, emotional support, and helping clients with basic needs and comfort.

  4. Transition to Further Treatment: Medical detox is often the first step in a comprehensive addiction treatment program. After detox, clients are typically referred to further treatment, such as inpatient rehab, outpatient therapy, or support groups, to address the underlying issues related to their substance use disorder.
